well we’re home…the rest of the tour was a blast!
friday night house party in guelph was incomparable – it was a full-on living-room funkfest/dance party! the band and guests all had a great time and the grooves were coming easily all night. thanks for coming, thanks for dancing, thanks megan, ali, kendra, arthur, and ricky for hosting! was definitely a highlight.
saturday we made a last-minute addition to the tour itinerary to play one more show with pat robitaille, this time at bridges tavern in thornbury (near collingwood). we had a blast! enjoyed pat’s opening set and then had him sit in on the synthesizer for much of our set – this was pat’s birthday show and a good time was had by all. our host meredith was very gracious and we will be setting up a return show soon!
sunday 4 tired but very happy boys drove home…returning to a somewhat normal existence for awhile….if you are in the sault – check out loplops on friday night – we will be there!
this was a great trip. met tonnes of great people and had loads of laughs / good times….looking forward to the next round in june….

a couple of fun nights in the kitchener-waterloo-cambridge area.
wednesday night at the boathouse in kitchener – great room – good people….including a special guest appearance by local blues singer Miss Angel – who joined us for a tune in the 2nd set. also an interesting twist to the evening when the place was visited by several of k/w’s finest….apparently there had been a false 911 call made from the area – so the air got tense for awhile – but we pushed through and the mood lightened up again before too long…..
thursday night at the groove kitchen was a great time! shared the night with mandippal and pat robitaille – both who turned in great sets….then bigwheelandthespokes took the stage and turned in a high-energy set to an appreciative bunch of folks….had some help from pat on the fender rhodes for part of the set – good times….the groove kitchen has a great feel to it….met some great people in cambridge – hopefully we’ll see them again on June 15th.
tonight – house party in guelph – looking forward to it…..saturday looks like we’ve added a show in thornbury w/ pat robitaille….then home sunday……
will post photos soon….

alright, so here we are – tapped in to some wi-fi in toronto so here’s an update:
things are going swimmingly so far – had a blast double-billing w/ al wood and the woodsmen in ottawa – great to see a tonne of old and new friends. great show / great energy! stayed w/ our pals megan jerome and mike essoudry – check out their music on myspace – megan jerome / mike essoudry / mempm (mike essoudry’s mashed potato mashers – a very cool new marching band)
…then a beautiful drive through algonquin park to parry sound – where we played to a small but appreciative crowd at the west parry sound district museum. following the show we laughed through the night with our hosts Darcy and Hillary. Thanks for your hospitality guys! Looking forward to a summer bbq/party/show on the museum deck. Jay and Frank enjoyed the Parry Sound wilderness experience by camping out in a tent in Darcy and Hillary’s attic – good times!
Sound man extraordinaire George Ravlich joined the tour in parry sound – rounding out the team….Unfortunately George is not feeling well right now as he ordered a burger w/ every possible additional topping (various cheeses, meats, etc. – ingredient list and photo(s) to be added to website soon). So he is dealing with some indigestion and general moral issues right now but we’re sure he’ll be himself again before too long.
stopped in guelph to unload some gear for the house party on friday night and promptly received a $40 ticket for parking over the sidewalk – live and learn….
enjoying a restful night off in toronto before heading to windsor tomorrow to share a night with our friend pat robitaille and pawnshop diamond – then kitchener, cambridge, guelph to round out the week….more updates to come….
